March 3, 2020in this early part of the chapter i'm quite jealous that i don't have an abandoned secret military installation that i can cover in graffiti and art-doodles.
since i know what's going to happen later in the chapter though ... hmm ... it's probably fair to say that in the end i'm relieved i don't have one of these.
at one point about 15 years ago my family nearly bought a little house in the middle of Dallas, TX, that had a concrete shaft in the back yard that led to an underground bomb shelter. we ended up buying a house about two blocks away from it, but man ... for a moment there i was nearly living the dream.
it would have been crazy fun to run dungeons & dragons game down in that place. plus, doing it up with graffiti and random painting.

Somebody has been living down here, doesn't seem like a thing the military — or the dogs — would do.
